I have heard of Web 2.0 for quite some time, however, I had no idea of the far-reaching implications until I took the Web 2.0 class this Summer semester. I have learned about so many tools in a short period of time - 5 weeks to be exact - that I am in total awe. Our Web 2.0 instructor pushes us out of our comfort zone, which is a good thing for me.
I tend to be somewhat of an introvert, without a whole lot to say - publicly anyway! My boyfriend and my children hear a ton from me, but not many others do! I have to say that I have definitely been pulled out of my comfort zone this Summer semester, but I am finding they are all very good experiences. I still feel somewhat on the periphery, however, hesitant to do much more than lurk in most of the communities.
I will say I have become comfortable with blogging, since that is part of our weekly assignments! I think I like blogging the best over all of the other tools. Tweeting seems hit or miss to me. I couldn't really think of an awesome tool to write about for this blog, so I went with my feelings around Web 2.0 instead.
It's been a good summer, and a good class! :)
I agree, I really have come to like blogging! It's something that I might stick with at the end of the class. I agree with you that tweeting seems like a hit or miss, I do more reading tweets than I do of creating my own, but I will still create one every now and then.
ReplyDeleteLoreli, I read the tweets as well and do not create many of my own; however, I did create one for the Produsage 2 assignment. I could see the valu in doing that, once I thought about it some.
DeleteSomehow, i can never get the idea of including a # in front of my posts. Maybe that's why I am more of a Facebook Status Update person than a Tweeter?
ReplyDeleteI am class too and although the assignments are tearing me apart, it's kind of sad to know that class is ending in a couple of weeks time.
Hi Chang Yit, I am with you on the hashtag; it was after I saw Dr. Dennen's response in the administrative to a question that I realized the value in using the hashtag; it made the tweet sort of a "topic" I suppose that folks could then follow...I may be using the incorrect terminology! :) But I was able to incorporate it into my Produsage 2 assignment very easily ... to my surprise! :)
DeleteHey Barb,
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with you, blogging has been a relief for me this summer, its been so hectic, with now a sudden move, teaching, course work and research.
The course is a fun experience and i'm glad you have enjoyed stepping out of the zone a bit. =)
Cheers,
Ben E.
Ben, thanks so much for your comment! It was wayyyyyy out of my comfort zone, but I have to tell you, it's been a great experience for me!
DeleteI wish you the best,
Barbara :)
