My prior experiences with
social media and Web 2.0 technologies have been somewhat limited. I have them available in my organization, however, I never seem to find enough time to utilize them. I do assume there is value in Web 2.0, and I would love to know more about how to utilize these resources in designing training.
I am most definitely a follower when it comes to Web 2.0, and I am eager to learn more! I believe I am a follower because I have been so consumed with the recent historical method of designing training - web-based talking head more or less.
I would love to learn how to incorporate social media with web course design that my team and I are responsible for within a telecommunications company. My desire is to know how to use these tools beyond the firewall that my organization has.
Being a follower is just fine. There's a lot to learn from following -- and you can be a knowledge broker, moving what you learn from one forum (social media) to another (your workplace and colleagues).
ReplyDeleteI am curious Vanessa (I hope it's okay if I call you Vanessa!) ... the Electronic Journals on Blackboard, are they related to the blogs that we have out here, or is it totally separate? I got a bit confused and only set up my Electronic Journal today. Thank you!!!
DeleteJust saw this comment -- although I replied to your similar comment on the main blog. This is the electronic journal. The participation logs are what's in Bb. They use what Bb calls the journal tool, but that is just for documenting your participation. I was able to label it "Participation Log" in the sidebar, but unfortunately could not remove all of Bb's "journal" lingo from within.
DeleteVanessa, thank you so much; I received the email from your above response, however, just thought it was an email. I hope to get better with practice! :) Thank you!
